Paws In Our Hearts
You are not alone here.
The wall is free. Help us keep it that way.
Somewhere right now, someone is sitting with a browser tab open, wondering what it costs to put their dog's name somewhere permanent.
Nothing. Making a memorial has never cost anything, and it isn't going to. Their page, their photos, the moments you add, the letters you write to them, the candles other people light: free, and staying free.
That's a deliberate choice, and it's the expensive kind. Every memorial on the wall is hosted, backed up, and kept online. Every submission is read by a person before it goes live, and that person is me. None of that is free to run.
There is one thing here that costs money, and I'd rather say so than have you find it: an optional PDF, properly typeset for printing, of a memorial card or a timeline or a set of letters. Making all of those is free and printing them from your browser is free. The PDF is for people who want a real physical copy to frame. It doesn't come close to covering what this costs to run.
Which is where this page comes in.
Not to keep the wall alive. It's alive. To keep it free — for the next person who finds it at two in the morning and never has to wonder what it'll cost.
There's no suggested amount and no minimum. A pound, or a hundred — both keep the same wall standing, and neither is too small or too much.
Paws in Our Hearts is a business, not a registered charity. Giving here isn't tax-deductible and I'm not going to pretend otherwise, and nor am I going to pretend keepsake sales don't exist. They do, and they help. They are nowhere near enough. What giving here is: the reason the wall doesn't have a paywall on it.
