Miracle Elizabeth

Dog · 2020 – Jun 2026
"My heart and soul"

Miracle started out in life as a puppy mill mama down in Texas. She was rescued by Dusty Puddles Dachshund Rescue, and she came with four 3 and a half week old puppies, but they had already been pulled from her. She got adopted by a family, but she’s so terrified of men that she did nothing but hide under the bed, so they returned her to the rescue. I was messaged and told that she was available again, so we coordinated to meet half way on October 25th 2020.  She required a lot of patience to get her to trust, but it was worth it. In December of 2024 I found out she had lymphoma, and to say I was devastated is an understatement. We started chemo treatments, and she went into remission, but sadly it was short lived. After 2 complete protocol sessions, and her not staying in remission, I decided to just keep her comfortable and love her until SHE told me she was done. That happened in June of this year. Thankfully she waited until after I retired and gave me 2 weeks of being with her 24/7 before she told me she didn’t want to fight anymore.

Light a candle for Miracle Elizabeth

A small way of saying: they mattered, and someone noticed.

You can light one again tomorrow.
