Shadow
I got Shadow when she was 6 weeks old. She loved her German Shepard big sister until she passed in 2019 from lymphoma. Then Shadow had to learn to be the only dog. Six months later a friend had kittens and I welcomed a little black 8 week old kitten. Shadow was such a good girl with the baby. Christmas Eve 2024 she was diagnosed with soft tissue sarcoma and given from a few months to a year with amputation, chemo and radiation. Besides the fact she had IVDD the year prior I couldn’t see putting a ten year old dog through that. I researched and went with holistic treatments. I spent 100 plus dollars a month on fixed income and got almost 2 extra years with her. She was my constant companion with severe separation anxiety. One time the store paged me as she was screaming from the car. lol she loved the beach and the water. She rode at my feet and in the back of Razr at the dunes. I miss you a whole bunch sweet girl. Forever in my heart
Light a candle for Shadow
A small way of saying: they mattered, and someone noticed.
You can light one again tomorrow.
Moments with Shadow
Her love of water and the beach
My son put Shadow in my 5 ft deep swimming pool and she just took off swimming. You couldn’t keep her out of water of any kind. Our walks along river required towel for sand and water
The way she greeted me at the door
Shadow could recognized the sound of my car and walk. When I would get home from an appointment she would start high pitched barking until I got the door open. I live in an apartment with shared hallway so the whole apartment knew I was home.

You do not have to have known Shadow. If reading this brought back your own, say so. People find out here that other people understand, and that is usually what they came for.
